The site is located in Hillerød’s city centre between the pedestrian zone and the lake promenade. From the site there is a magnificent view of Slotssøen and Frederiksborg Castle. The challenge of the assignment is on the one hand the interaction with the existing old and preservation-worthy buildings and on the other hand to expand the existing shopping street to include the new courtyard connecting Slotsgade with the lake promenade.
The new courtyard will offer attractive locations for shops, galleries and restaurants. The residential units on the upper floors will bring life to the courtyard – even after closing time.
