Tegel Airport is being closed. The new Schuhmacherquartier, filled with diverse, modern urban life, is the continuation of the urban city from Kurt-Schuhmacherplatz with the contextual interweaving with the adjacent areas, the barracks area to the south and the new science city to the west. The starting point of the planning are the public spaces: the “Eco-Rambla” and the “Greenshoals”, which will be spatially defined by the future buildings.
