A suburb of Munich lacks a spatial centre. In addition to single-family homes, Vaterstetten consists of a church, a town hall and shopping facilities. By adding a town house, a new urban space is created. The foyer in front of the building’s main hall becomes part of the central square, so the life of the square extends into the hall. Solitary buildings are added to the City Hall neighbourhood, which together form a series of garden spaces with different characters.
